Chamonix is well-known for Mont Blanc, hiking, and skiing. However, it's also a magnificent playground for fishing. Summertime trout fishing in Chamonix can be done in two types of habitats: lakes and rivers. Surprisingly, fishing within the valley is more commonly done in lakes than in rivers.

 

Within the valley, there are three fishable lakes managed by the AAPPMH du Faucigny: Lake à l'Anglais, Lake des Gaillards, and Lake des Chavants. As for the rivers, fishing in this part of Haute Savoie is permitted in three waterways: Eau Noire, the Arve, and the River du Paradis des Praz.
